A follow up on Digital Product Passport (DPP): The white label blind spot no one is talking about

If you are running a white label business, you are not off the hook for Digital Product Passport (DPP).

Under the ESPR (Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation), importers buying from manufacturers outside of the EU are the gatekeepers. The moment that your imported goods enter the EU, you are considered the Economic Operator (EO) and the primary responsible for providing detailed, product-specific information digitally accessible to consumers and authorities for each imported product.

So the question becomes: how do you get the data you need accurately, completely, and on time when you are not involved in the manufacturing process?

It starts with bringing your supplier onboard.

You can’t do this alone and you shouldn’t have to. It is time to revisit your supplier contracts and ensure the right foundation is in place: accurate product data audit, batch tracking, and clear accountability.
